Harli Seifert

How Harli Seifert came to Breeding
Actually it was all Theo's fault, Harli Seifert's husband, who passed away a few years ago. This couple who lived in Darmstadt, he an architect and she a draftswoman and interior architect, started to take riding lessons. In the beginning, Harli Seifert found horses rather suspicious. But that quickly changed, especially after she found Chica. The brown Chronos daughter came from the famous Rudinate line and when she saw her, she fell in love and bought her right away.

Initially, Chica was Harli Seifert's horse for jumping, fox hunting and leisure riding - before she became a highly successful, international event horse with Wolfgang Mengers. When her career in sport was over at the age of 13, Chica started her second career as a broodmare - under the name of Rudilore II. In 1979 she gave birth to Voila and a year later to Voici (alias Ruling Chica). The sire of both bay mares was Volturno, Otto Ammermann's Olympic Game event stallion. In those days as well as today, Harli Seifert always trusts her own gut feeling. "I wanted to breed performance horses that had ability and ambition."

Voila Branch
Voila gave birth to various sport horses, including St.Pr.St. Rumina (by Ramino), who became the dam of the licensed stallion Gio Granno (by Grannus), a highly successful  international horse. Harli Seifert was honored with a gold metal in 2001 for this particular stallion, for her "special services to breeding".
Grannuschka, Gio Granno's full sister, produced four licensed sons: Conterno Grande (by Contender), Couleur Rubin and Couleur Rouge (both by Cordalmé) and Congress (by Cornet Obolensky). The Voila branch is also the origin of the licensed stallions Don Chico and Royal Kingdom.

Champion Mare Donna Doria
Harli Seifert loves her horses dearly and she doesn't part with them easily. Wilhelm Sieverding well remembers the tough negotiations he had with Harli Seifert once for a filly by Donnerschlag-Rosenkavalier that he finally persuaded her to sell to him. Given the name Donna Doria, she later became the 2000 Oldenburg Champion Mare.

Ruling Chica Branch
The Ruling Chica branch is the origin of Tantris, who was sold to the US as a four-year old where he went on to win ribbons in Grand Prix, and a sextet of brothers consisting of Rubin Royal, Romanov Blue Hors, Rumicello, Rubino Vincento, Rubin Action and Rockefeller Blue Hors. The main premium winner Rubin Royal, who successfully competes in Grand Prix dressage under Hendrik Lochthowe, proved to be a magnet for mares when the Seifert Stallion Stationed opened in 1997 in Löningen-Lodbergen.

Breeding goal: Performance horses
The number of licensed stallions that Harli Seifert has bred now surpasses 20 and the number of premium mares and foals as well as successful sport horses is far beyond that number.
In 2008, restructuring took place. The former stallion station in Lodbergen was rebuilt with the aid of a circle of Haril Seifert's friends into a highly modern Dressage Horse Performance Center with affiliated stallion station. The facility is managed by Urs Schweizer. Harli Seifert still concentrates on breeding in Bunnen – where she keeps her target set on talented performance horses.

Credit Where Credit is Due
Harli Seifert has received many awards for her achievements in breeding. Listed on her account are the main premium winner 2001, Rubin Royal, the VTV Jumper Stallion of the Year 2002, Couleur Rubin, the VTV Dressage Stallion of the Year 2008, Rubin Royal, and the VTV Dressage Stallion of the Year 2009, Blue Horse Romanov. Harli Seifert has also received the bronze, silver and gold medal awarded by the German Equestrian Federation (FN) as well as the bronze, silver and gold medal awarded by Lower Saxony's Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry.
